I got Jack a giant floor puzzle of the solar system at the library the other day. My mom comes over and Jack promptly starts to inform her on why Pluto is no longer a planet and how Jupiter could squash the Earth if it so desired.
She goes on to ask me what he is going to do in kindergarten next year and I say, "I don't know, probably his teacher's taxes and questioning why she is claiming so many dependents."
Really and honestly our kid is sharp. I have mommy goggles just like the rest of you, but goggles aside, he is a smarty pants magoo. (Unlike me, because obviously I use words like magoo.)
We've played memory, made bird houses, puzzles, legos, and studied the 10 pound atlas the kid makes us take everywhere, but it was not enough. Not really. Winter had me fried when it came to being creative, so I turned to science. Haven't gone there yet, I thought. Hence, I started Science Tuesdays last month. I found this super great website called, Kids Science Experiments. I wish I could take credit for all the ideas, but clearly the boy gets his brains from his daddy. Anyways, it is fun, easy stuff you can do in your kitchen with stuff from your pantry and junk drawer. Good stuff for homeschooling or even your little ones too. Millie has had the patience to do a couple. So there you go mamas. Go get your mixing and separating on!
