We woke up last night, at about two, to the normal monthly sound of our water softener tank filling. Around three Millie was awake and I was a little frustrated. She has been sleeping through the night until about six in the morning since she was two months old. I know, we were spoiled. But the last little while it has been three-thirty or four when the little bugger is ready to eat. So I mosey on up and start to feed her. About two minutes later I hear a sound in the hall and think, "There is no possible way I woke up Jack." In pops Chris's head saying, "Oh by they way, we have about an inch of water in the utility room." Ugh. How much is this gonna cost. So I head down after Millie is back down and Chris is stumped. Somehow water has splashed up against the wall, the furnace, it's everywhere, not just the floor. So I tell him to go turn the water on and we'll check the pipes in the ceiling. The second he turns it on it is like a junior sized Old Faithful coming from the top of the water softener. "Shut it off! Shut it off! It's spraying all over me!" Thank goodness for lifetime guarantees. It was actually a relief to know that we won't have to pay a dime. And that we were in town, oh I can't even imagine. So first thing this morning we were on the phone saying, "Hey Culligan Man!"
And by this time tonight we actually have most of it taken care of. The water is gone in the laundry room and we rented a massive fan for the carpets. So now all we have to do is find someone to come re-pull our carpet. I hope to have it all taken care of by Monday when they come to fix it so I can just hand over all the receipts.
