Store

Jack thankfully has expanded out of his normal daily routine of playing cars, cars, trains, puzzles, cars, and then more cars. Although this kid is a whiz and has quite the imagination, we needed to broaden it to more than just talking cars and 100 peice puzzles. (And yes I am bragging because he gets the puzzle gift from his mummy)
We made up a fantastic new game called Store. We made open and closed signs, I hooked him up with a calculator, we made fake money, receipts, some plastic bags, a push cart, a hand basket, and then I sent him off to his room.
He put his Closed sign on his door, closed it, and I didn't see him again for over a half an hour while he organized his store. Fan-flippin-tastic! When he came out and opened his store it was amazing what this little guy did. He departmentalized and organized like you have never seen a three year old do. The best part was about to come though. And it only made me realize how awesome it would be to have a sales associate like Jack.

Jack: Welcome to my store. What are you looking for sir? Oh, ma'am?
Me: Well my little boys fourth birthday is soon and he would like a few things. Do you have any trains?
Jack: Oh, we have so many cool trains. Your little boy would love this one because it has a remote control.
Me: Oh, he would totally love this!
Jack: Do you want to see a surprise? It is something he would totally love. (Can you imagine if the Target lady showed you a completely cool surprise no one else gets to see in the store?)
Me: What?! How in the world did you get the only Lightning McQueen die-cast car to ever be manufactured?
Jack: I know! And he is only Fourteen Eighty-eight dollars!
Me: Steal!

We went on to check out only to find out that there must have been some door buster close-out K-Mart special because everything he scanned was only one dollar. And when I asked him for my grand total he wrote out the receipt and it was only ONE DOLLAR! Oh how I wish Target was like Store. Then I wouldn't have to ban it from my life for one whole year.

I think I need to come play store! How are you holdin' out on the Target thing? You may need to allow me to purchase a super cute tank that I got there this last week!
