Jack: Four

We were in full on Cars mode for this birthday. It was only fitting because the most anticipated movie of all time is coming out July 24th. Cars 2, duh!

Jack had a great birthday weekend (not birth day because we go big in this house to celebrate one of the greatest gifts in our lives, ever). We had every Cars toy out imaginable. Tractor tipping game. The Cars racetrack. Cars color changing station. The Ikea city rug. Cars books. Cars tattoos. We did it all.

We drank cans of oil with our cupcakes. For favors we handed out cars and the most scary looking candy that looked like they were rejected from a vitamin factory. I pray every parent tossed them in the trash.

Sunday the fam came over. We squeezed into our house, again, because of the weather outside. I'm sure all of our families love getting up close and personal with one another. Makes Chris and I smile. Big. We at burgers and dogs and Lightning McQueen cake. I don't think I did as well as I did with the train last year. Jack loved it though. Here are a few snapshots of the weekend.

Love this one. He's so happy it is his day.

Lastly, I wanted to give you a little insight about this little boy. And for the sake of not going on for days and getting my keyboard covered in tears I thought I would give you a little excerpt from Jack's book this year. Every year I do a book about them for their birthday. Just about them. Something they can take with them when they go and look back at fondly. I write a little letter at the end about how much they have grown, their strengths, accomplishments, naughtiness, and how much I want to squeeze him all the time. So here is a little piece of his story this year,

"Mostly your day consists of a lot of coloring, playing cars, the Wii, nickjr.com, tent building, wrestling, jamming out, one for the money, more cars, board games, puzzles, reading books, a cartoon or two, and being a sweet, fun boy.

Not a night goes by that dad and I don't have a story about you to tell. You were the exact little boy to be sent into our lives four years ago. You show us what it is to be guininely kind and sweet. You constantly impress us with your intelligence. You are an AWESOME kid. Love you Smacks. Here's to next year. It's only going to get more sappy. Kindergarten.....gulp and double gulp."
