The More Kids, More Laundry Theory

It is somewhat true that the more children you have, the more laundry you do. It's common sense. More kids equals more clothes. But don't you ever find yourself saying how can something so small have so much to wash? So I got to thinking about it and my two kids combined actually doesn't make up that much laundry. Yes Jack occasionally pees the bed or Millie poops up her back in her car seat causing for extra loads, but it still doesn't add up.
So here's what it is, ME! Yes, you the mother. You could go into my laundry basket right now and pull out any shirt or pant and find some sort of pantry item smeared on it. You name it. Peanut butter, a noodle, spit up, maybe some baby lotion, maybe even some small smidgen of poop. Most days I go through a pair of pants because if I am lucky enough that day I have only had one cup of milk or juice spilled in my lap. And I'm not blaming it all on my kids though. Here is also how ridiculous I may be. I wake up put on my jammie pants. If I go out I put on some jeans. Then I come home and put on some pants that aren't quite jammies, but not nice enough to wear out because I feel like I don't want to look like a total bum when Chris gets home, but I still want to be comfy. Yes, I know a lot of you are the same way! Some of you may say,"Be more careful Em." "Maybe don't let Jack put the eggs in while the mixer is on high." "Maybe if you drank like you had a bottom lip." It doesn't really matter. Spills will always happen, Jack will savor the memories, and I will always put too much food on my spoon.
And to add to it all I have a secret love affair with my new washer and dryer. So it is fun to see if we can get the stains out. Yes, I mean me and the washer when I say we. We make a great team, pair, couple, whatever. And my dryer, oh my dryer. It dries clothes in 40 minutes people!

Adding a second child has somehow made me need to do laundry twice as often. When Paul and I got married, I could do laundry every 10 days. Then when Nathan was born it had to be about once a week. Now with Jacob I have to do laundry twice a week. Weird. And it's not because of an obsessiveness of changing clothes.... Actually, it may be that I'm so limited on clothes that actually fit, that I am having to constantly wash and re-wear the same 2 pairs of jeans.
