Here is my apology to you, my little blog, for not keeping up with the promise of a personal appearance at least twice a week. I have a few things I would like to share and talk about, but literally no time. I know, no time in the dead of winter with nothing to do but gaze out at the brown snow and wish for a glimmer of sunshine? Yes, that is normally the case, but we have been having the most gorgeous weather and are outside whenever possible. And if I we aren't, I have had a few other things that ranked a little higher than you. I'm sorry. I apologize. Will a new blog design make you feel better? Good. Because that is coming. When? Can't say, you should know that about me by now!
Okay, so to give you a glimpse of some upcoming posts, here is why I have not been parking my hiney in this semi-comfy chair.
First off, my sis-in-law asked me back in January to illustrate her children's book for her final project. (She is getting her master's in education) So yeah, that has taken up a chunk of my day. And even though they are what I like to call glorified stick figures, it takes time to form ideas about the scene, sketch, draw, and outline the scenes. And honestly with my type of brain, most of this can only be done when my little lovelies are far, far away. On top of that, she has written a really sweet book and I want to give her something worth pairing with her writing.
We have also had the sickness, Millie not sleeping consistently for about two months, little projects around the house, and tivo'd episodes of Parenthood and Homeland. Yes, TV ranks above you. Sorry. And I don't mean to put salt in the wound, but Survivor started last week. Also, the kids and I have been doing projects on Tuesdays and Thursdays (for the most part) and I will share that on Thursday....hopefully.
So to keep you interested, we all know pictures help with that, here is our latest bling added to our home.
Isn't she purdy? I have been admiring her work for months and last November asked her to do a custom piece of Ogden. Although Ogden doesn't have quite the city scape to portray, I gave her some ideas and I believe she pulled it off! It took us a few conversations and a bit longer than anticipated, but I didn't mind. Plus, PLUS, she let me pick any 8x10 print form her shop. As Millie would say, "Oh, yeah! Oh, yeah! Oh,yeah!" I chose this Seattle print because we love it and is where we honeymooned.
It actually feels good to sit down and pound out this post. Maybe I should do it more often.
