This girl loves her some baseball hats. Which would lead one to believe that she is going to be a tomboy. Maybe a tomboy with a bedazzled baseball helmet.
As you can see she likes her brothers hats, but love love loves clothes and all things shiny and sparkly. She likes to do my make-up with me, but plays with Jack's cars. She loves trains and stuffed animals. She climbs and wrestles, but is a snuggler.
It's funny because I never believed I would have a somewhat of a diva daughter. We are pretty laid back in our house and I was an angel child. Okay, a whiny angel. We have never pushed, maybe nudged, gender related toys on either of them. Jack just happens to love trains and cars, but is okay playing Polly Pockets. Millie plays and wears what her brother does, but is slowly migrating towards dolls and other girlie things (like other hats and she'll keep headbands on now, yay!)
All I can say is that it is crazy having more than one child. The differences are insane, but they have noticeable resemblances for sure.Certain things will come easier to one than the other. It is only going to get tougher to figure out how to parent each of them and keep them on the same playing field as well.
I just have to face the fact that she may be like me as a child. Which I hope isn't too bad of a thing. I was outgoing, would do anything, play anything, especially for a laugh. Not so much now, having children changes that in a real hurry. It took my eight year old nephew calling me an old woman to jump off cliffs at Lake Mead.
Most of the time I just imagine that life will be like this forever. The hardest part of my day will be convincing Jack he needs a nap, not that his curfew is ten o'clock and THAT IS FINAL! Oh my gosh, teenage years scare me. Especially after watching Dexter last night. Damn you Dexter! We just keep saying, as long she stays sassy and sinister, as long as she stays sassy sinister, no one will mess with her. At least until she is 25, then we need to get this girl married off to someone who thinks that behavior is cute.
