17 more days

Two and a half down, two and a half to go. I dreaded week two. I thought all of the new gifts and me at his absolute disposal would wear off. The cast would be more annoying than ever and we would be having constant fits. Thankfully there have only been a few instances of "I want both of my legs back!" The pain and discomfort has pretty much subsided and he can slide from chairs and roll over. It's like having a five month old again! We get all giddy whenever he does something on his own. (Had a video, but it won't upload. Arg. I'll keep trying.)
We went for an x-ray and check-up last week. We were surprised to actually see that the break was still very much there. The doc pointed out a "haziness" in a certain area where the bone was starting to heal and promised us that it looked exactly how it should. I love his doctor. Dr. Klatt. And he loved the card Jack made him. Said he didn't get a lot of those and would hang it in his office. So sweet. Afterwards we went to the zoo. Millie loves animals and pulled her famous wide-eyed "Ooohhh!" at everything we saw. Oh, and did I mention that she loves to hang from EV-ER-Y-THING.

This one was just cute. Jack got a kick out of the baby just plopping down in the tire.

Bath time is awful. He dreads his every other day bath. Once we have him settled and propped against the tub he is fine, but it involves a lot of unnecessary tears.
Everything is a process. Prepping him for eating, the bathroom, dressing. Brushing teeth takes twice as long. We try to surround him with toys and activities, but I still need order in my house! So there is a lot of fetching. Jack may actually, finally, be finding a voice level louder than a mouse. And let's just say I may finally get the upper body muscle I always dreamed of! Yeah, probably not.
We are venturing out too! Today we went to Discovery Time at the library. One of our favorite activities that we haven't done in like, forever. He went with Chris to Lowe's yesterday. And now that he can sit, kind of, he can ride the glider. I would like to say summer has finally arrived in Northern Utah, but as I look out my window it is STILL currently raining. Between the down pours it has been quite beautiful. I am hoping for more sunny days before this thing is off. It really boosts the spirits to get out of the house and refill with sunshine.
