2012 Resolutions: Part One

First lets take a look back at my 2011 resolutions.

1. Work out at least two times a week. I'm being realistic here people.
Eh, not so much. I tried, I really did! On Christmas I told my sister-in-law we were starting up P90X on the following Monday. {Insert laughing, throwing the head back, and clapping of the hands} She exclaimed,"I love it when Chris and Em start up P90X!" Okay, so we tried. For the record, I did work out more this year than last. I am justifying it in my head that this resolution was SUCCESSFUL!

2. No more Target.
Lasted four weeks. FAIL.
3. Wear more jewelry.
Yes! It didn't happen so much until December when I personally re-pierced my left ear. Since then I have been rockin' the earrings. Infection free I may add. SUCCESS!
4. Eat less sugar. This one is iffy.
Iffy! I laugh, oh how I laugh. I would Scrooge McDuck it up if I had his money. Instead of a room full of gold, I would fill it with donuts and brownies and jump off my diving board into it everyday if I could! We have had more whole grain pastas and rice than before. So I am calling it a SUCCESS!
5. Keep sewing. Maybe take a class.
This tragically did not happen as much as I anticipated either. Minus a sewing project here or there, I would stamp this one, FAIL.
6. Start painting again. Maybe take a class.
FAIL.
7. Always be reading a book.
Well, I am still reading Decision Points, by George Bush. So that counts as always, right? It is taking awhile. Not that it isn't interesting, it is, it's just that other books popped up or a chapter was a little tedious to get through. Like choosing his cabinet members, YAWN.
Looking back I read around six books this year. Not as many as I hoped, but I am happy that I fit that many into my sometimes tired brain. SUCCESS!
8. Correspond more. Grandparents especially.
I have sent my grandpas cards and letter every here and there, but nothing like I should be. Semi-SUCCESS.
9. Expand the garden. With our first year a semi success, why not triple it?
We did not expand, but we did get a better yield this year. Not because of anything I did! I think it enjoyed a late summer for some reason. SUCCESS!
10. Complete the honey do list.
No, not even close. Install closet doors or go swimming? Swim. Poor cement behind the garage or go to Disneyland? Disneyland. Maybe if things slow down travel wise this year we will get things down around here. It is funny I even typed that sentence. FAIL.

There ya go, six out of ten. Stayed tuned for this years resolutions. And there will not be ten, holy cow who's idea was that?
